Dr. Shi is a senior scientific advisor to AFO and has been a faculty member at the University of California Irvine since 1992. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Caltech in 1992. Professor Shi’s current research projects include specialty photonic glasses and devices, novel fiber design, optical fiber sensors, and opto- and electronic packaging, materials and automation.
